The tour was well organized and Georgie, the guide was excellent. She gave a thorough explanation of each area visited. She also answered our questions and helped take photos. It was a comprehensive look at the Alambra but unfortunately, due to a recent earthquake the tour was shortened. This actually gave us a 30 minute break which was needed. There are several drinking fountains inside the Alambra and there is also a place to purchase drinks midway. The overall cost was quite high but it appears that many tourist attractions have increased their prices especially for foreign tourists while keeping entry fees to zero or reduced for locals. It is a must see to tick off your bucket list. There is a parking area that costs about 3 euros per hour but public transport (payable with credit card) is a couple of euros each way if you are near a bus line.

Unser Guide war sehr erfahren, hat sehr interesant erzählt und die Zeit verging wie im Fluge, obwohl wir 3,5 Stunden bei 44 °C unterwegs waren. Sie konnte auf alle Fragen sehr kompetent eingehen. Es war ein sehr angenehmes Tempo, sie ist großartig auf die Bedürfnisse der Gruppe eingegangen, war super freundlich und zugewandt und hat sich auch Zeit genommen, Fotos von uns zu machen. Taking a tour and having a guide is the best way of getting the most from the amazing UNESCO site. Our guide Claudia pointed out things we would have definately missed and narrated the historical journey of the complex medieval site in an interesting, informative, factual and engaging way. The tour, thiugh 3 hours was well paced with short breaks to take photos and rest between individual sites within the 24 acres. Value for money.
